Ooni of Ife Unveils Golden Statue of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu at Obafemi Awolowo University

 

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has officially unveiled a golden statue of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu in a ceremonial event held at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Osun State.

During the unveiling, Oba Ogunwusi praised Oluremi Tinubu, stating, "A golden statue is erected to immortalise her virtuous personality and to showcase the strength of a teacher, mother, and wife at the very heart of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife." He emphasized the significance of the statue, noting that it serves as a testament to her contributions to education and community empowerment.

The monarch further highlighted that the largest hostel and pavilion in the history of OAU, which is named after the First Lady, stands as a representation of her efforts to create environments conducive to learning, development, and empowerment for all students.
