A source close to the situation revealed to People that despite his current legal troubles, Combs' reputation still commands fear and respect in the industry. "He's so powerful. Everyone was afraid to cross him," the insider said. "Even though he's behind bars now, he's still so powerful. We all knew it even back then."
The source also noted that Diddy's control and influence stem from his extensive connections and past assistance to numerous people in the industry. "He's incredibly smart, knows a lot of people, and he's helped a lot of people — so a lot of people owe him," they added. "He knows that."
The report follows resurfaced footage of Diddy boasting about going "buck full crazy" and "finding girls" with a then-teenage Justin Bieber, raising concerns amid the mounting allegations against the founder of Bad Boy Records. The disturbing video, filmed when Bieber was 15 years old, has drawn renewed scrutiny since Combs' arrest.
In the clip, Diddy is seen talking about spending 48 hours with Bieber, stating, "He's having 48 hours with Diddy, where we're hanging out, and what we're doing we can't really disclose. But it's definitely a 15-year-old's dream." He also commented that although he did not have legal guardianship over Bieber, they were planning to "go buck full crazy."
