A tragic and shocking event occurred on Thursday, October 2, in Bosanska Krupa, Bosnia, when a 14-year-old broke into a local police station, fatally st@bbing one officer and critically injuring another, as reported by local authorities.
The town, located about 300 kilometers from Sarajevo, is grappling with the aftermath of this unexpected violence. Bosnia’s Interior Minister for the Bosniak-Croat Federation, Ramo Isak, confirmed the attack, adding that the wounded officer is currently in the hospital, facing life-threatening injuries. The young assailant, born in 2009, was swiftly detained, with investigators actively probing the motive behind the attack.
Regional Police Chief Adnan Habibija voiced deep concern over the youth’s involvement, describing it as "an alarm bell for our society." Mayor Armin Halitovic reflected the town's collective shock, emphasizing that Bosanska Krupa has long been a “peaceful and tolerant” community. Authorities have since heightened security measures throughout the town.
This incident follows a similar event last year when a 13-year-old student injured a teacher with a firearm, adding to growing concerns over rising youth violence in Bosnia.
