A 14-year-old girl is facing potentially life-altering injuries following a suspected acid attack at a school in west London. The incident, which also injured a 16-year-old boy and a 27-year-old staff member, occurred on Monday, September 30.
The Metropolitan Police, responding alongside paramedics and the London Fire Brigade, were called to Alfred Road after the attack. The teenage girl remains hospitalized with serious injuries that could be life-changing. The boy, also in the hospital, sustained less severe injuries, while the staff member has been discharged.
No arrests have been made, and police are actively investigating the incident. Authorities are testing the substance believed to be acidic and working to identify those responsible. Several crime scenes have been established.
Westminster Academy, where the incident took place, is currently closed, and students are continuing lessons online.
