VIDEO: House of Representatives Member Alex Ikwechegh Allegedly Assaults Delivery Driver, Threatens Harm

In a disturbing incident captured on video, Nigerian House of Representatives member Alex Ifeanyi Mascot Ikwechegh is seen allegedly assaulting and threatening a delivery driver who refused to enter his residence to deliver a package late at night.

The video, widely circulated online, shows Ikwechegh repeatedly questioning the driver’s refusal, asking, “Do you know who I am?” and berating him for not leaving his vehicle. The House member is heard saying he would handle the driver personally without needing his police escorts. He further threatened to detain the driver in his generator room and repeatedly called him derogatory names.

During the altercation, Ikwechegh also contacted the vendor from whom he purchased the items. Despite the vendor’s attempts to mediate, he continued his verbal assault, labeling the driver as “stupid” and “foolish” and threatening to make him “disappear” without consequences. Ikwechegh also refused to pay for the delivery and slapped the driver multiple times when he insisted on receiving his payment.

Realizing the incident was being recorded, Ikwechegh dared the driver to escalate the matter to the Inspector General of Police. He mocked the filming, even challenging the driver to record him further. In the video’s final moments, he appears to strike the driver’s phone out of his hands. When the driver returns to the camera, he is visibly distressed, his shirt torn, and he explains that Ikwechegh tore his clothing and continued to withhold his payment.

Ikwechegh, who serves as the representative for Aba North/South Federal Constituency, has yet to publicly respond to the allegations. The video has sparked widespread public outrage, calling for accountability and a formal investigation into the incident.
