Nigerian-British boxing star Anthony Joshua has emerged as one of the top three highest-paid boxers in 2024, alongside Tyson Fury and Canelo Alvarez. The former two-time heavyweight champion, despite his defeat to Daniel Dubois in September, secured substantial earnings from the fight held at Wembley Stadium.
Joshua received a guaranteed £6 million purse, with potential total earnings reaching over £25 million if pay-per-view (PPV) sales reached the estimated 850,000 mark. This impressive figure ranks Joshua behind only Tyson Fury and Canelo Alvarez, who took home even greater sums this year.
Tyson Fury, the "Gypsy King," topped the list with an astounding $100 million from his highly anticipated undisputed heavyweight title fight against Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in May. Meanwhile, Mexican champion Canelo Alvarez earned $35 million for successfully defending his super middleweight title against Jaime Munguia at Las Vegas's T-Mobile Arena.
Daniel Dubois, Joshua’s opponent, was guaranteed £3.5 million, with a potential total of £8 million based on PPV sales. Dubois claimed a decisive victory, knocking Joshua down four times before ending the match with a fifth-round stoppage.
