The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has expressed profound sadness over the sudden passing of Peter Kabugo, a Uganda Premier League match official, who collapsed and died during a game at Wankulukuku Stadium in Uganda.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe extended heartfelt condolences to Kabugo’s family, the Federation of Ugandan Football Associations (FUFA), and its president, Moses Magogo. Speaking on behalf of CAF, Dr. Motsepe shared his sorrow over the unexpected loss of the official, emphasizing the impact Kabugo’s passing has had on the Ugandan football community.
"The CAF President Dr. Motsepe conveys his and CAF’s deepest condolences to the family of Peter Kabugo, the Federation of Ugandan Football (FUFA), President Moses Magogo, and the people of Uganda," the official statement read.
Motsepe also wished for peace and comfort for all those grieving this loss, adding, "May Peter Kabugo’s soul rest in eternal peace."
