In a recent statement, Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the 2024 U.S. presidential election, expressed strong admiration for tech billionaire Elon Musk, highlighting his pivotal role in providing aid during Hurricane Helene. The former president praised Musk’s Starlink satellite service for helping save lives during the October disaster, particularly in southeastern parts of the United States.
On Wednesday, November 6, Trump shared with his supporters how Musk quickly mobilized Starlink to assist those affected by the hurricane, specifically in North Carolina. “I told Elon they need it badly in North Carolina. Can you get it? He had that there so fast, it was incredible. It saved a lot of lives,” Trump said, emphasizing the impact of Musk's swift response.
Trump went on to describe Musk as a “special guy” and a “super genius,” underscoring the importance of protecting individuals with such exceptional talents. “We have to protect our geniuses; we don’t have that many of them,” he added.
Musk has been a vocal supporter of Trump’s campaign and has made headlines for his efforts to support the Republican Party. Notably, Musk has contributed $1 million towards encouraging voter registration for those supporting the GOP, further solidifying his backing of Trump in the upcoming election.
