Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has responded to the growing speculation surrounding the future of Nigerian star striker Victor Osimhen, who may either remain permanently with the Turkish Super Lig champions or return to his parent club, Napoli.
Osimhen, 25, has quickly made his mark at Galatasaray since joining on loan from Napoli this summer. The striker has tallied four goals and three assists in just seven appearances across all competitions, boosting Galatasaray's offensive firepower. As rumors circulate about a potential permanent transfer, Özbek stated that a decision on Osimhen’s future will be made at the end of the season.
“There is ample time for Galatasaray to consider its future strategy,” Özbek told haberaktuel.com. “Victor Osimhen is an important player for us this season, and his performance has been impressive.”
While there is interest in signing Osimhen permanently, Özbek emphasized that discussions about a transfer will be postponed until next summer. He also expressed that Galatasaray’s main focus is on success this season.
“We want to bring pride to the Galatasaray community, and our priority is achieving success,” Özbek added. “It’s premature to discuss transfer matters now, but we’re pleased to see Osimhen’s impact on our team and the attention he’s garnering across Turkey.”
As Galatasaray continues on its path to a successful season, Osimhen's future remains undecided, with fans eagerly awaiting the club’s decision next summer.
