Francis Ng'ang'a, a Kenyan businessman, has shared the tragic story of his wife, Lucy Wambui, who died after undergoing cosmetic surgery at a Nairobi clinic. Ng'ang'a revealed that Lucy developed serious complications following the procedure, leading to her hospitalization and eventual death four days later.
According to a postmortem report, Wambui experienced chest pains and difficulty breathing on the second day after undergoing abdominal liposuction. Ng'ang'a recounted the heart-wrenching moments leading up to her death during an interview with Citizen TV, expressing his anguish over the circumstances surrounding the surgery at Body by Design clinic.
Ng'ang'a accused the clinic of negligence, stating that they sent Lucy home despite her deteriorating condition. "I asked them why my wife was excreting and smelling, and they told me it was part of the healing process," he explained. He emphasized that when her condition worsened, the clinic instructed her to go home and subsequently closed its doors.
Tragically, just ten minutes after arriving home, Lucy's health declined significantly, prompting Ng'ang'a to return to the clinic, only to find it locked with only security personnel present. "The following morning, on October 26, she called me and told me she was feeling very bad. She said that if she dies, I should take care of our children just as we would if we were together," Ng'ang'a recalled, marking their final conversation.
In response to the incident, the Kenyan government has announced the closure of the clinic while investigations into the circumstances of Wambui's death are underway. This tragedy has sparked discussions about the safety and regulation of cosmetic surgery practices in the country.
