I Haven’t Seen Myself as Human in Years”: California Man Admits to Killing Six People, Including Woman in Burned Mobile Home

A California man recently arrested for murder isn’t just facing charges — he’s confessed on camera. And what he revealed is chilling: the killing of 62-year-old Roxana Jo Kelly in Oildale was, by his own account, only the latest in a string of murders stretching back decades.

Daniel Graham, 41, spoke from jail in an interview with NBC’s Bakersfield affiliate KGET, where he described the night Kelly died. According to Graham, Kelly owed him a debt. A confrontation escalated, insults were thrown, and Graham says he “just blacked out” after putting her in a headlock. “I just – I choked her out,” he told the reporter. “That’s the only female I’ve ever got with like that and took her life.”

Graham claims all his other victims have been male. He admits to killing six people total — three in California and three in his hometown of Gallup, New Mexico. His story stretches back to when he was 17, after he says he killed a man who molested a child in his family. “I haven’t seen myself as a human being in a long time,” Graham said. “Since I was 17-years-old. Since I took my first life.”

Throughout the interview, he repeatedly called himself a “monster” and a “beast.” When asked if he feels guilty for the people he’s killed, he paused — then said only “a couple” and added, “not gonna lose any sleep over it.” On his own sentencing, he paused again: “If it were up to me, I’d probably get rid of me.”

Graham also insisted that his co-defendant, Misha Allen, was not at the fire that killed Kelly, but he declined to name other victims, leaving families in the dark. “I stopped being good a long time ago,” he said.

This isn’t just a story about one brutal murder — it’s a glimpse into decades of violence, a life that Graham himself frames as monstrous, and a man who openly admits to taking lives without remorse. For the community, it’s a terrifying reminder that sometimes the real monsters are not hiding in the shadows — they’re sitting right across from us, calmly telling their story.
