Kash Patel Under Fire as Trump Installs Co-Deputy at FBI Amid Backlash

FBI Director Kash Patel is facing growing scrutiny within the Trump administration, with tensions rising over his leadership following high-profile missteps. According to sources, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi reportedly “can’t stand him,” though both Bondi and Deputy AG Todd Blanche have denied the allegations. The White House also denied any plans to remove Patel.

In response to the mounting pressure, Trump installed former Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey as co-deputy FBI director, alongside Trump loyalist Dan Bongino. The move comes as Patel faces criticism over the FBI’s handling of the Charlie Kirk assassination investigation, which saw multiple erroneous arrests before the suspect’s father ultimately turned him in.

Despite the controversy, Trump defended Patel’s performance, stating: “I am very proud of the FBI. Kash — and everyone else — they have done a great job.”

Online, however, critics have been less forgiving. Social media users slammed Patel’s leadership, with comments ranging from calls for his resignation to frustration over the slow response in the Kirk case. One user wrote, “Kash Patel is an incompetent fool who needs to step down from his leadership position,” while another added, “Patel and Bongino need to step down. At least Kash for sure, this has been a s** show.”*

With Bailey now sharing the reins and public pressure mounting, Patel’s future at the FBI remains uncertain.
