Missouri Man Confesses to Brutally Killing His Sister After a Week of Plotting

Police say a St. Louis-area man carried out a twisted plan when he attacked and killed his own sister in cold blood.

Craig Jones, 22, has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 26-year-old Taylar Hill, according to court records.

The violent incident happened Tuesday evening at a home on Bliss Drive in Bellefontaine Neighbors, a suburb of St. Louis. Authorities say Jones bludgeoned Hill several times in the head with a seven-pound dumbbell before grabbing a steak knife and stabbing her repeatedly.

When police arrived after 8 p.m., Hill was still alive but suffering from “life-threatening stab wounds.” She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors pronounced her dead soon after.

Jones fled the scene but was later tracked down and arrested without incident. Court documents reveal a chilling confession: Jones admitted he had been planning to kill someone for about a week — and chose his sister.

Prosecutors wrote that Jones “intentionally killed his unarmed sister without provocation.”

The St. Louis County Police Department has taken over the investigation at the request of local police. Jones was set to be arraigned Thursday.
