Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie Quietly Leave U.K. Amid Parents’ Royal Title Fallout

As scandal continues to envelop their parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have quietly left the United Kingdom, taking low-profile international trips, according to Hello!.

Eugenie was spotted in Paris enjoying a girls’ trip with friends, strolling along the Seine with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Meanwhile, Beatrice traveled to Saudi Arabia to attend the Future Investment Initiative, a high-level global conference focused on innovation in technology and finance. Beatrice’s presence aligns with her professional role as vice president of partnerships and strategy at U.S. software company Afiniti.

The sisters’ departures come shortly after their parents announced they would relinquish their Duke and Duchess of York titles on October 17, amid ongoing fallout from their association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The announcement prompted speculation that the ex-couple, divorced since 1996 but still living together, might move from their 30-room Windsor estate mansion, Royal Lodge, to other properties on the grounds.

Just a day after Andrew and Ferguson’s announcement, both Beatrice and Eugenie skipped a planned appearance at the inaugural Pink Ball at the British Museum on October 18. While no official reason was given for their absence, its timing strongly suggests a connection to their parents’ decision.

Despite their parents losing their titles, Beatrice and Eugenie retain their princess status and positions in the line of succession. Neither is a working royal: Beatrice is employed at Afiniti, while Eugenie serves as a director at the Hauser & Wirth art gallery.

Before the announcement, the sisters had been busy socially. Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, attended two London events on consecutive nights—October 13 at the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Art of Wishes Gala and October 14 at the Chancery Rosewood hotel’s grand opening, where rooms reportedly rent for $27,000 a night. On that same day, Eugenie carried out a rare royal duty, touring Springfield University Hospital and St. George’s Mental Health NHS Trust with Princess Rajwa of Jordan, before visiting Hauser & Wirth with Beatrice.

According to The Sunday Times, Prince William reportedly wants neither Andrew nor Ferguson involved in his future reign, from the coronation to royal family Christmas celebrations at Sandringham. However, he continues to welcome Beatrice and Eugenie into the family fold.
