A Swissvale Borough employee was terminated after video footage showed him confronting a delivery driver, calling him the N-word twice and mocking him for coming “from the hood” while claiming he himself “lives on a golf course.”
The driver, King, said he was sitting in his box truck waiting for USPS to open when the former employee approached, ordering him to move the vehicle. Fearing for his safety, King began recording the encounter. The man reportedly blocked King’s truck with his car during the dispute.
Swissvale officials confirmed the employee’s dismissal on the borough’s official Facebook page, stating that his behavior was “threatening and racist” and “does not reflect the values of Swissvale Council and Staff.”
Council leaders, including Council President Christopher Ansell and Councilwoman Angela Stribling, condemned the actions as “racist,” “dehumanizing,” and “appalling,” emphasizing the borough’s “no-tolerance policy” for such conduct.
The incident drew widespread attention as the video circulated on social media, prompting calls for immediate action from residents and a state representative.
