Filmmaker Funke Akindele has voiced her concerns about young women who label themselves as "baddies" without showcasing any intellectual substance.
During an interview on Arise TV, the award-winning actress shared her thoughts:
"I enjoy watching beautiful content, but you need to be mindful of what you create. Focus on your brand, what you're selling, and what you want people to learn from you. If you're an actor or a self-made person, and you have a large following, what are you producing for those coming up? You must positively influence their lives with your content.
For those who consume content, consider what you're watching. Are you watching to be entertained or to learn? Don’t be a troll or seek to impress others. Just because someone shows off designer bags on video, how do you know they aren’t borrowed? Don’t believe everything on social media.
Stay positive and produce content that will promote you positively.
I am concerned about these so-called baddies. A baddie without showcasing what you have intellectually? We need to see what you're doing, what positive content you’re creating, and what you’re contributing that people can be proud of."
