PHOTOS: Couple Ties the Knot at Lagos Airport Terminal in Unprecedented Ceremony

Surprise and excitement filled the Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd. (BASL) terminal at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos on Saturday as a couple, Olamide Alli and Abiodun Agboola, exchanged their wedding vows at the facility.

The ceremony took place in a cordoned-off section of the departure area, with approximately 50 guests in attendance.

Mr. Kola Bamigboye, Chief Operating Officer of BASL, noted that this was the first wedding of its kind at the airport. He highlighted that the event showcased MMA2 as more than just a terminal, expressing hope that more couples would consider hosting their weddings at airports in the future.

"We like to bring people together. Whether you're traveling through our terminal or coming here to solidify your love, MMA2 is the place," Bamigboye said.

Mrs. Monica Oguta, Head of Aviation Security for BASL, echoed this sentiment, saying the wedding created value for the airport terminals.

When asked if the couple were airport staff, Oguta clarified, "They are just Nigerians who thought the idea was good. I started considering the concept of an airport wedding some years back, and when the opportunity arose, we seized it."

The couple exchanged their vows and rings in the terminal, with Ms. Oluwabukunmi Aminu serving as the officiating vow coordinator.

A passenger, Mrs. Abigail Babatunde, commented that she had never witnessed such a unique wedding before.

To cap off the event, the couple received free flight tickets from Value Jet Airline.
