Consultations on the minimum wage between Organized Labor and President Bola Tinubu have once more concluded without reaching a definitive agreement.
The meeting, initiated by President Tinubu, ended with no significant resolutions. Labor leaders, speaking to reporters after the meeting, indicated that discussions with the Presidency would continue next week. They also mentioned the need to report back to their respective unions on the details of their discussions with the President.
Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, stated that the proposed positions of N250,000 from Labor and N62,000 from the Federal Government remain unchanged.
The Nigerian workforce has been eagerly awaiting the government's decision on a new minimum wage.
