VIDEO - Road Rage Incident in Indianapolis Ends in Fatal Shooting

In a dramatic turn of events on July 16 in Indianapolis, a road rage altercation resulted in the death of a 29-year-old man, Gavin Dasaur, who confronted another driver with a gun.

The violent confrontation was captured on video by a nearby driver. The footage shows Dasaur, armed with a handgun, rapidly approaching a white Chevy pickup truck. In the video, Dasaur attempts to punch the driver while brandishing his weapon. As he tries to strike the driver, Dasaur shifts the gun to his left hand and continues to gesture aggressively with his right hand.

The driver of the Chevy then draws his own gun and fires multiple shots at Dasaur, who falls to the ground as a result. The seven-second clip ends with the person recording taking cover in their vehicle.

The shooting occurred around 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of South Emerson Avenue and Thompson Road. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the altercation was sparked by a road rage incident between the driver of the Chevy and Dasaur, who was driving a black Honda.

Following the incident, the driver of the pickup truck was initially detained but later released after investigators determined that he may have acted in self-defense.

Dasaur’s wife, Cinthya ZaMora, expressed her outrage and grief over the shooting. She described her husband as a dedicated and helpful individual who was deeply committed to his family. “He was a hardworking man that always went out of his way to help anyone and wanted to give the world to me and his family,” ZaMora told local media.
