Shade Tinubu Urges Market Traders to Discourage Children from Participating in Nationwide Protest

In a recent address captured in a widely circulated video, Shade Tinubu, daughter of President Bola Tinubu, has urged market traders to caution their children against joining the upcoming nationwide protests concerning economic hardships and hunger. Speaking to a group of market men and women, Ms. Tinubu expressed her concerns about the potential consequences of such demonstrations.

"Let us inform our children, family members, and those in our communities that protests are not the way forward in Lagos State," she advised. "We should remember the damage caused during previous protests, where many public assets were destroyed. We must not allow ourselves to be manipulated by individuals offering money to incite violence and destruction."

Ms. Tinubu highlighted the ongoing struggles of business owners who suffered significant losses during the EndSARS protests. She pointed out that several businesses in areas like Adeniran Ogunsanya, Lekki, and Sango Tedo are still grappling with the aftermath of those events.

Emphasizing the positive developments under the current administration, Ms. Tinubu reassured the public of the government's commitment to improvement. "We need to give the new government some time to prove itself," she said. "A government should be evaluated after at least three years in office before making judgments about its performance."

Her comments come amid growing public discontent over economic issues and rising living costs. As tensions mount, Ms. Tinubu’s call for restraint reflects a broader concern for maintaining stability and preventing further economic disruptions.
