Donald Trump is capitalizing on his recent assassination attempt by featuring a dramatic image of the incident on the cover of his upcoming book, Save America. Scheduled for release on September 3, the book will showcase a striking Associated Press photo by Evan Vucci, depicting a defiant and bloodied Trump raising his fist and urging the crowd to “fight, fight, fight” moments after a failed assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.
The image captures Trump’s resilience in the face of the attack by a 20-year-old gunman, which resulted in the death of a spectator and injuries to two others. The book, Trump’s third since leaving the White House, is being marketed online for $99, with signed copies priced at $499.
This move is part of a broader pattern for Trump, who has turned the shocking event into a profitable venture. During the recent Republican National Convention, 45Footwear released a pair of white sneakers emblazoned with the same image from the incident, retailing for $299.
Trump’s approach to monetizing political and legal challenges has extended to other merchandise. His infamous mugshot from his August 2023 indictment in Georgia was also repurposed for campaign-related mugs and T-shirts.
Meanwhile, Trump, in his first rally following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race, intensified his attacks on Kamala Harris, the presumed Democratic nominee for the 2024 election.
