UFC Star Jon Jones Pleads Not Guilty to Charges of Threatening Drug-Testing Agent

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from an alleged incident involving a drug-testing agent. The charges include two misdemeanors related to an altercation with anti-doping officials in April.

Jones, 36, faces accusations of threatening the life of an anti-doping official while reportedly intoxicated. The UFC star has been charged with assault and interference with communications, offenses that could result in up to a year in prison and a fine of up to $1,500.

Despite these charges, Jones maintains his innocence. He claims he did not "threaten, get in anyone’s face, raise my voice to anyone, or engage in any form of assault." On Wednesday, he officially entered a not-guilty plea during a virtual bond hearing in New Mexico. The judge granted his attorney's request, allowing Jones to remain free pending trial.

MMA Fighting reports that Jones is now under strict conditions: he must not violate any laws, possess firearms or dangerous weapons, or consume alcohol or illegal drugs. Additionally, Jones must avoid all contact with the alleged victims.

The police report details the incident, alleging that Jones grabbed the tester's phone and threatened to sue her and her colleague. The tester, who believed Jones might have been drunk, also testified that Jones issued a chilling warning: "Why you f****** people come so early? Do you know what happens to people who come to my house? They end up dead."

Jones continues to deny these allegations as he prepares to face the charges in court.
