Veteran Nollywood Actor Jide Kosoko Expresses Support for President Tinubu, Defends His Vote

Nollywood veteran Jide Kosoko has publicly defended his decision to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asserting that he does not regret his choice. In an interview on the ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’ podcast with content creator Bae U Barbie, Kosoko praised President Tinubu's performance and acknowledged the challenging nature of economic recovery.

Kosoko, who has been a prominent figure in the Nigerian film industry, addressed questions about whether voters for President Tinubu should face criticism. He responded, “That is their own business. Their own cup of tea. I am entitled to my opinion. I love the man I voted for. And I know he is doing well.”

The actor emphasized the difficulties of addressing a struggling economy, stating, “If only you know how repairing things are, you will understand that he is doing very well.” Kosoko justified his vote for Tinubu by highlighting his longstanding respect for the president and his significant contributions to Nigeria’s democratic process.

“I voted for him because I have known him for a long time and have witnessed his contributions to nation building,” Kosoko explained. “You cannot discuss the present democracy we enjoy without acknowledging Tinubu’s role among those who fought for it.”

Kosoko’s comments come amid ongoing debates about the effectiveness of President Tinubu’s administration and the broader political climate in Nigeria.
