Parents of Trump Shooter Thomas Crooks Hire Legal Team Amid FBI Investigation

The parents of Thomas Crooks, the man accused of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump, have reportedly hired a team of attorneys as the FBI intensifies its investigation into their potential involvement in the plot.

According to a source speaking to Mail Online, the FBI "still has many questions" regarding how much Thomas Crooks' parents, Matthew Crooks, 53, and Mary Crooks, 53, knew about their son's plans. The source also noted that Matthew Crooks is a gun enthusiast who has sold firearms to relatives in the past, raising further concerns about the parents' possible connection to the incident.

A family member, who chose to remain anonymous, told Daily Mail, "The FBI still very much has questions about how much they knew and how he [Thomas] slipped through the net."

Speculation about whether Thomas Crooks acted alone gained traction after Florida U.S. Representative Mike Waltz questioned the possibility of assistance in an exclusive interview with Daily Mail. This has led to increased scrutiny of the parents' role in their son's actions.

The decision by Matthew and Mary Crooks to hire Quinn Logue, a Pittsburgh-based law firm, suggests they are preparing for potential criminal charges as well as possible civil actions from the families of other victims in the incident. The firm specializes in both criminal defense and civil suits, including wrongful death and personal injury cases.

Founding attorneys John Quinn and Matthew Logue are recognized as some of the top legal professionals in Pittsburgh, consistently appearing in publications such as Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America.

As the investigation continues, the involvement of Thomas Crooks' parents remains a focal point for federal authorities, who are determined to uncover the full extent of any assistance or knowledge they may have had regarding their son's actions.
