Trump Promises Release of JFK Assassination Documents, Unveils Plans with RFK Jr. at Arizona Rally

In a dramatic twist to the presidential race, former President Donald Trump vowed to release “all of the remaining documents pertaining to the assassination of John F. Kennedy” if elected in November. Trump’s announcement, made during a rally in Glendale, Arizona, on August 23, included a pledge to establish a new commission on presidential assassination attempts, which would also investigate the July 13 attack against him.

The rally marked a significant moment as Trump was joined on stage by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who recently suspended his third-party presidential campaign to endorse Trump. The crowd responded enthusiastically to Kennedy’s endorsement, chanting his name and showing strong support.

Trump's promise to create a panel of experts to collaborate with Kennedy on investigating childhood health issues was notable, given Kennedy's controversial stance on vaccines and public health. Kennedy, known for his vocal criticism of vaccine safety, has been linked to the spread of misinformation regarding COVID-19 and vaccines.

In his speech, Kennedy emphasized his belief that Trump would "make America healthy again" and protect against “totalitarianism.” He also acknowledged that Kennedy's late father and uncle, both prominent Democratic figures, would likely be proud of his current stance.

However, the endorsement has been met with criticism from Kennedy’s own family. His siblings, including Kathleen Kennedy Townsend and Kerry Kennedy, condemned the support for Trump, calling it a "betrayal" of the values held by their father, Robert F. Kennedy. They expressed their support for the Democratic ticket instead.

The rally also saw discussions about recent health-related issues, as local reports noted that over 100 attendees were treated for heat exhaustion due to the high temperatures.

Trump’s remarks on the JFK assassination documents and his collaboration with Kennedy add a complex layer to his campaign, intertwining historical intrigue with current political debates. The proposal to release the documents and establish a new commission reflects Trump’s ongoing effort to address both past and present controversies.
