Popular Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has opened up about having suicidal thoughts after becoming embroiled in a bribery scandal allegedly involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, has launched an investigation following allegations that some officers of the Commission accepted bribes from Bobrisky. These claims surfaced after a viral audio recording was released by social activist, Very Dark Man, on September 24.
In the recording, Bobrisky is heard in a phone conversation alleging that he paid N15 million to certain EFCC officials in exchange for dropping money laundering charges against him. The names of the officers involved remain undisclosed.
On September 26, Bobrisky took to Instagram to express his distress over the situation, revealing that it has led him to contemplate suicide. He shared his emotional state with his followers, adding more layers to the unfolding controversy.
The EFCC has yet to make further statements regarding the ongoing investigation.
