Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs' children are reportedly reeling from the news of his recent arrest and indictment. Combs, 54, was taken into custody on September 16 and faces serious charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and has been denied bail twice.
A source told PEOPLE that Combs has been able to speak briefly with his family, including his seven children, while in jail. He is particularly worried about their well-being, especially since three of his children are minors, and two of them now have no available parent while he is incarcerated.
Combs has three sons—Quincy, 33; Justin, 30; and Christian, 26—and four daughters—Chance, 18; Jessie and D’Lila, 17; and the youngest, Love, who is just 23 months old. His children, particularly those who are minors, are reportedly in "a state of crisis and shock" over the situation. A family insider expressed how heartbreaking it is to see the children in such distress, emphasizing that to them, he is not just "Diddy" but "Dad," who has always been a loving father.
The allegations against Combs involve claims that he coerced women into participating in long, orchestrated sex performances, known as "freak offs," using drugs and intimidation tactics. Prosecutors allege that these events sometimes lasted several days and that Combs recorded some of them without the participants’ consent. When his homes in Los Angeles and Miami were searched, authorities reportedly found over 1,000 bottles of baby oil associated with these events.
Combs' attorney, Marc Agnifilo, attempted to secure a $50 million bail package for him, proposing a $50,000 bond instead, but a judge rejected it. During the court proceedings, Agnifilo mentioned that Combs is undergoing treatment and therapy for unspecified issues. He expressed confidence that Combs would vigorously fight the charges against him.
A hearing for Combs is scheduled for October 9 at 2 p.m.
