Israeli Airstrike Kills Hezbollah Commander in Beirut

An Israeli airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs has killed Ibrahim Qubaisi, a senior Hezbollah commander responsible for the group’s rocket division, along with five others, according to local reports.

The airstrike, which occurred on Tuesday in the Ghobeiry neighborhood, dealt a significant blow to Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group. The attack is part of a series of recent Israeli operations that have caused heavy losses for Hezbollah over the past week.

A security source confirmed that the strike targeted a five-story building, severely damaging its upper floors. Lebanon's health ministry reported six deaths and 15 injuries as a result of the attack.

This incident marks the second day of Israeli airstrikes on the Lebanese capital, further escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. Hezbollah has been launching rockets into northern Israel in support of Hamas, leading to retaliatory strikes by Israel.

Israel's military chief, Herzi Halevi, stated that Israel would continue and intensify its operations against Hezbollah, emphasizing the need for ongoing military action across all fronts.

The escalating violence has raised concerns that the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah could spiral into a wider war, with thousands of civilians on both sides displaced by the ongoing hostilities.
