Lagos Police Officers Accused of Extorting N1 Million From Corps Members Summoned for Trial

The Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has shared a photo of the officers involved in a confrontation with corps members in Surulere, Lagos State. The officers allegedly extorted N1 million from the corps members during the incident.

In a post on his X account (formerly Twitter) earlier today, Hundeyin confirmed that the officers have been summoned, and their trial has already commenced. This follows a video posted by an X user, showing the officers engaging in a heated argument with the corps members. The user further alleged that the officers demanded and received N1 million from the young individuals.

Hundeyin's post indicates that the Lagos State Police Command is taking the accusations seriously, with the officers now facing disciplinary actions. The outcome of the trial is awaited as the case progresses.
