Grammy-nominated Afrobeat artist Seun Kuti, along with his band Egypt 80, has unveiled their latest single, “Stand Well Well,” now available on all digital platforms. The track, inspired by Aldous Huxley’s dystopian novel Brave New World, offers a critique of contemporary society’s conformity and the social hierarchies that influence our lives.
The new single features a compelling trumpet solo by Made Kuti, Seun’s nephew and fellow Afrobeat musician. “Stand Well Well” is the third single from Seun Kuti & Egypt 80’s upcoming album Heavier Yet (Lays The Crownless Head), scheduled for release on October 4 through Record Kicks.
Following the success of previous singles “Dey” featuring Damian Marley and “T.O.P.,” this new release continues Kuti’s tradition of challenging societal norms and addressing pressing issues.
Seun Kuti reflects on the inspiration behind the song, stating, “Everything in the world today looks the same. The world is kind of reminding me of Brave New World.”
With its energetic rhythms and thought-provoking lyrics, “Stand Well Well” enhances Seun Kuti’s reputation for blending music with meaningful social commentary. The track is now streaming across all major platforms.
