The Concerned Obidient Movement has announced its support for Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the upcoming Edo governorship election on September 21. The group, known for its backing of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, is shifting its allegiance for this election.
While Peter Obi has endorsed Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party for the governorship, the Concerned Obidient Movement, led by Mr. Ikhuenbor Igbinevbo, believes the choice of governor goes beyond individual endorsements.
Igbinevbo stated, “This election is a pivotal moment that will determine Edo’s future. The PDP is fostering a renewed political climate that promises sustainable progress.” He praised Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie, for their vision and qualifications, noting their deep understanding of Edo State's challenges and potential.
The group is urging Edo residents, both locally and abroad, to support the PDP and its candidates in the upcoming election, highlighting their commitment to responsible governance and progress for the state.
