On Thursday, September 26, Edo State Governor-elect Monday Okpebholo made a significant visit to Aso Rock, where he expressed his deep gratitude to President Bola Tinubu following his victory in the September 21 governorship election. In a symbolic act of appreciation, Okpebholo knelt before the president, acknowledging the support he received throughout the election process.
Accompanying the Governor-elect were top figures from the All Progressives Congress (APC), including the party's national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and several APC governors. Among those in the delegation were Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State and chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), as well as Governors Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (Kwara State), Uba Sani (Kaduna State), Usman Ododo (Kogi State), and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun State).
Prominent Edo leaders, including Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North Senatorial District, and Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, were also part of the delegation. The visit highlights the strong unity within the APC and Okpebholo's appreciation for the support that contributed to his electoral success.
