Martins Otse, also known as Very Dark Man (VDM), has reacted to a recent post by Folake Falana, daughter of prominent lawyer Femi Falana. In her post, she stated that her family will be taking VDM to court after he failed to apologize for comments he made regarding an alleged conversation involving Bobrisky.
The controversy began after a leaked audio clip purportedly revealed a conversation where Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have paid ₦10 million to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) through Femi Falana to have money laundering charges dropped. In response, VDM commented on the situation, expressing his concerns over corruption.
Falz, the rapper, and his father, Femi Falana, issued a legal notice to VDM on Wednesday, September 25, giving him 24 hours to retract his statements and apologize. Since VDM did not meet the ultimatum, Folake Falana announced that the family would proceed with legal action.
VDM, in a video posted on Instagram, responded to the Falanas' decision. He criticized the focus on his remarks rather than the corruption allegations, stating, "Imagine Bobrisky saying he paid ₦15 million to EFCC to drop the charges. That should be disturbing to all Nigerians." He questioned why the attention shifted from the corruption accusations to a personal attack on him.
VDM also defended his comments, explaining that he merely reacted to the alleged recording and that the Falanas' names were mentioned in the audio. He emphasized, "The only thing I said was that if this turns out to be true, I will lose respect for them. I even said I refuse to believe it."
Despite the legal threat, VDM remained defiant, stating that he is ready to face court and, if necessary, serve time in jail. "The highest I will be locked up for six months or one year," he concluded.
This unfolding dispute has garnered significant public attention, with many awaiting the outcome of the legal proceedings.
