Nigerian music sensation, Oyinkansola Aderigbigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has garnered four nominations for the prestigious 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs). The announcement was made on Wednesday by the event’s organizers.
Ayra Starr received nominations in the categories of Best African Act, Best Push, Best Afrobeats, and Best New Artist. She joins fellow Nigerian artists Tems, Burna Boy, Asake, and Rema, who were also nominated in the Best Afrobeats category.
South African star Tyla also earned four nominations, including Best New, Best Afrobeats, Best African Act, and Best R&B.
Meanwhile, American pop icon Taylor Swift led the nominations with seven in various categories, further solidifying her global appeal.
The 30th edition of the MTV EMAs will take place on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, UK.
