Enugu Police Commissioner Visits Family of Slain Musician Igbo-Jah, Promises Justice

Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, along with senior officials from the state government, visited the family of Chikezie Okezie Nwamba, known as Igbo-Jah, on Saturday. This visit comes in the wake of the tragic shooting of the popular Ogene musician by a police officer on Friday night.

During the visit, CP Kanayo assured the family, friends, and the broader community in Enugu State that the investigation into the murder would be completed swiftly and that justice would be served. He emphasized the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to uphold discipline within its ranks, stating that any officer who violates the law will face appropriate consequences to deter similar actions in the future.

Expressing his condolences, the Commissioner extended his sympathy to all those affected by this "unfortunate and callous murder," urging the public to remain patient as the police work diligently towards justice in the case.

In an update from the Enugu Police Command spokesperson, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, it was revealed that the officer responsible for the shooting has been identified as Inspector Ozonwanji Joseph. He is currently in custody and will face the full extent of the law once the investigation concludes.
