CAF Schedules Nigeria's Final AFCON 2025 Qualifier Against Rwanda for November 18

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set Monday, November 18, as the date for Nigeria's concluding match in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Rwanda. The game will be held at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, marking the final push in Group D for a spot at the AFCON finals set to take place in Morocco from December 2025 to January 2026.

Following last month’s disrupted match against Libya, CAF has confirmed Moroccan officials will oversee the encounter in Uyo. The officiating team will be led by referee Samir Guezzaz, with Zakaria Brinsi and Abdessamad Abertoune as assistant referees, and Kech Chaf Mustapha as the fourth official. The game will kick off at 5 p.m. Nigerian time. Ghana’s Prosper Harrison Addo will serve as the match commissioner, while Ali Mohamed Ahmed from Somalia will assess the referees' performance.

Before facing Rwanda, Nigeria will play a critical Matchday 5 game against Benin Republic at Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny on Thursday, November 14, at 8 p.m. Nigerian time. Senegalese officials will be in charge of the game, with Issa Sy as the referee, assisted by Djibril Camara, Nouha Bangoura, and fourth official El Hadji Amadou Sy. René Williams Sere from Côte d’Ivoire will serve as commissioner, and Angola’s Inácio Manuel Cândido will act as the referee assessor.

The upcoming matches are crucial for Nigeria as they aim to secure their place in the highly anticipated AFCON 2025 tournament.
