A Dutch court has ruled that Bill Gates must face trial in the Netherlands for allegedly misleading the public regarding the safety of COVID-19 vaccines. The ruling, issued on Wednesday, October 23, comes after seven plaintiffs claimed they suffered injuries from the vaccines and have filed a lawsuit against Gates, along with several other defendants, including former Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla.
The plaintiffs argue that Gates, through his roles with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the World Economic Forum, promoted vaccines that he knew were unsafe as part of a broader agenda termed the "Great Reset Project." They allege that Gates made false claims about the vaccines, suggesting they would stop transmission, prevent illness, and eliminate the need for masks.
In a 2020 article, Gates acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the effectiveness of various vaccines, emphasizing the necessity for countries to invest in diverse manufacturing facilities to expedite the vaccine rollout. He stated, “We aren’t sure which vaccines will be the most effective yet... That means nations need to invest in many different kinds of manufacturing facilities now.”
Despite Gates' attempts to dismiss the case on jurisdictional grounds, the court rejected his motion, affirming its authority over the matter due to his status as an American citizen. Additionally, Gates has been ordered to pay the plaintiffs' legal fees amounting to €1,406.00 ($1,518.44) within 14 days or face further penalties. A new hearing is scheduled for November 27, 2024.
Gates had previously warned that developing a COVID-19 vaccine was only part of the solution, indicating that ongoing efforts and investments were crucial to ensure global access and safety in vaccine distribution.
