American actress Halle Berry, 58, has spoken out against her ex-husband Eric Benét’s past claims of battling sex addiction. During an appearance on the "Armchair Expert" podcast with Dax Shepard, Berry expressed skepticism about Benét's self-proclaimed addiction, which was reported back in 2002 when the musician sought rehab for treatment.
"I had one husband who said he was a sex addict," Berry shared, without naming Benét directly. "But I don’t fing believe that s."
Berry and Benét tied the knot in 2001 after two years of dating, but their marriage faced significant issues after Berry discovered Benét had been unfaithful. Following the cheating revelations, Benét entered rehab for sex addiction. However, Berry’s recent comments suggest she doesn’t fully accept his explanation.
In 2003, the couple announced their separation, and their divorce was finalized in 2005. At the time of their split, Berry released a statement saying, "Eric and I have had marital problems for some time now and have tried to work things out together. However, at this point, I feel we need time apart to reevaluate our union."
After the divorce, Benét moved on and married Manuela Testolini in 2011, with whom he shares two daughters. Berry, meanwhile, dated Gabriel Aubry from 2005 to 2010 and had a daughter, Nahla, with him. She later married Olivier Martinez in 2013, with whom she shares a son, Maceo. Their marriage ended in 2016.
Currently, Berry is in a long-term relationship with musician Van Hunt, which she described as her most stable relationship. Reflecting on their connection, she said, "We celebrated when we hit four years like we had been married 20 years. ... He is my person, and you just know it."
