Juventus Players Alisha Lehmann and Douglas Luiz Targeted in Home Burglary

Football couple Alisha Lehmann and Douglas Luiz fell victim to a burglary at their home in Turin on Saturday night. The talented duo, who play for Juventus' men's and women's teams, reportedly lost possessions valued at over £416,000 during the incident.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the thieves made off with 11 watches owned by Luiz, along with diamond necklaces belonging to Lehmann. Luiz, 26, returned home after Juventus secured a 1-0 victory against Lazio to find their home in disarray. Lehmann, 25, was likely at her team hotel with her Juventus women's teammates, as they prepared to face Inter Milan the following day.

Authorities were alerted around 1:30 a.m., prompting police and forensic teams to respond to the scene and initiate an investigation into the burglary.

Lehmann and Luiz made headlines this summer as the first-ever "couples transfer," moving from Aston Villa to Juventus. The couple, who had been dating on and off while in the UK, expressed excitement about playing together in Italy. Lehmann remarked at the time, "For Douglas and me to be together in the same club is a dream. We have often played in different cities, so being able to have these great adventures in the same place is something wonderful."

Despite their shared journey, Lehmann has previously highlighted the pay disparity between her and Luiz at Juventus. Luiz joined the club for £50 million and reportedly earns around £100,000 a week. In contrast, Lehmann's salary, believed to be around £200,000 a year at Villa Women, has raised concerns for her. In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, she stated, "Everyone would like to have the same salary. I often speak to Douglas at home about this and tell him it's not fair. We do the same job, but he gets paid a hundred times more than me."

She added, "It's something that affects me because I'm a woman. Obviously, there's still a long way to go on the path we're on because there may never be equal pay. There will have to be a very strong will to make a change in this direction."
