Kate Cassidy, the girlfriend of former One Direction star Liam Payne, has been seen in public for the first time since the singer’s untimely death. The social media influencer was spotted on Sunday, October 20, accompanied by two friends and her dog during a visit to a pet store. The group was seen leaving the store with dog food in hand.
This outing comes just days after the tragic passing of Payne, who died in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16. The 31-year-old singer reportedly fell from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room at CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where he was staying.
Cassidy took to social media last Friday to express her grief and pay tribute to Payne, with whom she had shared a two-year relationship and lived together in Florida. In a heartfelt Instagram Story, she thanked everyone for their support, writing, "Thank you for all the kind words and love that has been sent my way. I have been at a complete loss. Nothing about the past few days has felt real. I ask and pray that you’ll give me the grace and space to navigate this in private."
In a moving message to Payne, she added, “Liam, my angel. You are everything. I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you, Liam.”
The couple had traveled to Argentina earlier in October to attend a concert by Niall Horan, Payne’s former bandmate. Although they initially planned to stay for just a week, the couple extended their trip. Cassidy, however, returned to Florida by October 14, sharing on TikTok that she was ready to go home. Payne, on the other hand, chose to stay behind, which reportedly caused tension, as he had "begged" Cassidy to remain with him, according to a close friend.
Payne’s death has left fans and loved ones in shock, marking a tragic end to his life at such a young age.
