Liam Payne's Ex-Fiancée Maya Henry Speaks About His Struggles Before His Tragic Death

Maya Henry, the ex-fiancée of Liam Payne, recently opened up about the late singer's mental health struggles, just days before his untimely death in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The 31-year-old former One Direction star passed away on October 16, after reportedly falling from the third floor of a hotel.

In a candid conversation on the podcast “The Internet Is Dead,” which aired on October 14, Maya, a social media influencer who dated Payne from 2018 to 2022, reflected on his ongoing battles and alleged that he had used emotional manipulation during their relationship. She claimed that after their breakup, Payne would often send her messages about his poor health.

“He would always message me since we broke up, saying things like, ‘I’m not well’ and playing with death, saying ‘I’m going to die,’” Maya shared. She described these messages as a way to manipulate her, despite their relationship having ended. “It was always the same cycle,” she added.

Maya also revealed that she had attempted to get Payne professional help at one point, but he did not accept it. She said that at times, he would reach out to her mother in an effort to get her to contact him.

Liam Payne tragically died after falling from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. While the exact cause of his death has not yet been confirmed, police suspect that he may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident. Payne sustained severe injuries from the fall, which ultimately led to his death.
