FBI Offers $50,000 Reward for Information on Gunman Who Killed UnitedHealthcare CEO in Manhattan

 

The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the gunman who fatally shot Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, in Manhattan early Wednesday. This reward is in addition to a $10,000 reward from local police. Investigators are working to track the movements of the suspect, who was captured on surveillance footage fleeing the scene on a bicycle before entering Central Park. Authorities believe the suspect may have left New York City by bus, with additional footage showing him walking to a bus terminal.

The police are actively searching Central Park with drones, having found a backpack discarded by the suspect. Despite the belief that he may have left the city, New York City Mayor Eric Adams remains optimistic about capturing him. The suspect’s identity and motive are still unclear, but the attack appears targeted, with healthcare-related terms found on the shell casings, leading some to speculate the crime may be linked to frustration over the healthcare industry's denial of medical payments.
