Ralan Styles, the rapper known for his viral remix of "Baby Shark," has reportedly been shot and killed at the age of 22. Born Michael Robinson, Styles was fatally injured in Columbus, Ohio, during an alleged street robbery in the early hours of Saturday morning, October 19.
Witnesses indicated that the assailant attempted to steal Styles’ neck chain, leading to a confrontation in which he shot the rapper multiple times. According to reports from the Daily Mail, police received a call just before 5 a.m. about the incident in the Victorian Village neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers found Styles with gunshot wounds and administered CPR while waiting for an ambulance. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at 5:10 a.m. after efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
A 24-year-old man named Mahamood Hassan has been arrested in connection with the murder. Witnesses provided police with a detailed description of the shooter, leading to Hassan’s identification in a line-up. He has been charged with Styles' murder and is currently held at the Franklin County Jail, awaiting a court appearance.
Styles' brother, fellow rapper Lil Goat, expressed his heartbreak in a touching tribute on Instagram, writing, "Not my lil brother man. I’m still waiting for you to call me and tell me this whole thing is a joke. My heart is broken; I’ll never be the same." He reminisced about their journey from rapping together in middle school to achieving stardom and shared, "I love you bro, and as long as I’m alive you’ll never die. Watch over me."
Fans have also taken to social media to pay their respects. Ralan Styles gained widespread attention in 2022 with his rap remix of "Baby Shark," which has garnered over 1.7 million views on YouTube. His other notable tracks include "Glocks and Raris," "Bon Appetit," and "Polyamorous."
