French football star Paul Pogba has reportedly declined an offer from a Russian club as he gears up for a return to the pitch following his doping suspension. The former Manchester United midfielder's four-year ban was recently reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), allowing him to potentially resume playing in March.
Had CAS upheld the full suspension, Pogba might have faced early retirement from football. However, with his ban shortened, he is expected to return to training by January 2024. Despite his anticipated comeback, it won’t be
with Juventus, as the club is currently working to terminate his contract, according to reports.
France Football revealed that Pogba was approached by the Russian club Broke Boys FC, which is not affiliated with FIFA but competes in the Media Football League, a league founded in 2022 and primarily composed of celebrities. Despite their status as the league's reigning champions, Pogba politely declined their offer.
As Pogba prepares to resume his career, he has been linked with several potential destinations, including Marseille and teams in the Saudi Pro League. The 31-year-old midfielder had rejoined Juventus in 2022, but his future with the club remains uncertain as both parties reportedly negotiate his departure.
